Eurovent is organised into sectoral expert groups focussed on certain products and technologies. These so-called Product Groups bring together manufacturers of those specific technologies, which cooperate to shape and develop standards, legislation, and industry codes of good practice in their sector.

The first prototype of EPREL has been analysed and tested by Sandrine Marinhas (Eurovent Certita Certification) and Charlotte van de Water (Eurovent Member Association Agoria) while exchanging information with Oscar Miralles, one of the Commission Policy Officers dealing with the practical implementation of EPREL. On 27 February 2018, Eurovent attended the inauguration of its Associate Member CEIS’ new testing facility. The project, which was under development for a little more than two years, promises to open doors for a new generation of products and testing opportunities – for the benefit of certification bodies, manufacturers and other organisations in the air conditioning market.
The Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament has asked for a for a study that looks at the interrelation between the Consumer Sales and Guarantee Directive (CSD) and the Ecodesign Directive. This study aims to assess how the legal guarantee of products could be coordinated with the notion of products’ expected lifetime.
