Our association acts as a bridge between our members and the EU institutions to enable safe and reliable heating, cooling, and ventilation technologies to contribute to the EU’s climate neutrality ambitions. We represent more than 1.000 organisations from over 30 countries, most of which are SMEs.

Publication contains everything you need to know about Residential Heat Recovery Ventilation Units

Brussels, 14 September 2021. Eurovent’s Product Group ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ (PG-RAHU) has just published the first release of its Guidebook on Residential Heat Recovery Ventilation Units. On 44 pages, the free-of-charge publication provides a comprehensive overview of all essential information on this important technology. The Guidebook was prepared in cooperation with REHVA (Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations).

The new website was designed to provide a better user experience to a wider audience (consultants, technical design offices, architects, and end-users) with a quick and easy access to certified data.

Organisations join forces to level the playing field in the HVACR sector

Eurovent and the Federation of Ibero-American Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Associations (FAIAR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, underlining their commitment to greater harmonisation and stronger ties between Europe and Latin America.

Organisations emphasise use of ISO 16890 as reference standard for general ventilation

Brussels, Paris, Dubai, 19 May 2021. Eurovent, in cooperation with Eurovent Middle East and Eurovent Certita Certification, will host a dedicated webinar tailor-made for Africa, Middle East, India and Southeast Asia. The webinar will outline the importance of adherence to latest standards in air conditioning and ventilation. Special focus will be placed on the application of the newest air filtration standard ISO 16890, which has replaced EN 779 and other international standards in recent years.

ECC programme to focus on Indoor Air Quality and Energy Efficiency of Ventilation Systems (IAQVS)

Eurovent Certita Certification (ECC) has developed a new certification programme for Indoor Air Quality and Energy Efficiency of Ventilation Systems (IAQVS) for residential applications. The programme covers mechanical ventilation systems for single dwellings (single family homes and apartments). Kick off online meetings are planned for 04, 12 and 20 May 2021.

Work on updating expected to be finished by the end of 2020

The first Blue Guide was issued in 2000. It provides for a better understanding of EU product rules and aims to support a uniform and coherent application across different sectors and throughout the single market. Even though the Blue Guide is a non-binding document, it is very often referred to for guidance by Member States, the Commission and stakeholders. The update takes into account the legislative developments since its 2016 edition.

2020 - Consultation on Candidate Cybersecurity Certification Scheme

The sensitivity of the connectivity of appliances and equipment to cyberattacks has been mentioned in various meetings and seminars. The European Union has established a European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) that has been looking at this issue for over 20 years, initially focussing on the financial sectors. Since last year it has been drawing up cybersecurity certification schemes. How much these schemes will extend to HVACR equipment is not yet known.

Next edition of Europe’s HVACR flagship event to take place from 12 to 15 October 2021

Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the organisers of the EUROVENTSUMMIT have announced the postponement of its upcoming edition to 2021. Initially scheduled for September 2020, it will now take place from 12 to 15 October 2021 in Antalya, Turkey.
