The draft report from the lead European Parliament ITRE Committee and the draft Council amendments on the European Commission’s revision proposal on the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) are now available. 

The European Commission has asked a consortium to develop an EU-wide whole life carbon roadmap to outline how all building-related emissions can be mitigated by 2050.  A kick-off webinar is hosted on 8 March 2022.

Brussels, Zürich 01 March 2022. Eurovent extends its welcome to ABB, one of the leading manufacturers of HVACR drives, motors and controls, as its newest Corresponding Member. The membership was approved during the Eurovent Board of Directors meeting in February 2022.

Eurovent Market Intelligence (EMI) is launching a new programme on transcritical CO2 racks and CO2 condensing units. HVACR manufactures are invited to participate and receive reliable future market trends.

The European Commission has opened the call for evidence on the review of the RoHS Directive, which limits the use of certain harmful substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Feedback can be submitted until 14 March 2022.

The European Commission has shared on 14 February with members of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Consultation Forum (X03609) which includes Eurovent, some developments and details of its tentative planning for the first part of 2022. 

According to Eurostat, the share of renewable energy used for heating and cooling in 2020 in the EU reached 23%. That is up from 22% in 2019 and up from 12% in 2004 when the Eurostat dataset starts.
