World leader of HVACR control solutions to showcase Connected Efficiency

Brussels, Brugine, 21 June 2018. The manufacturer CAREL, world leader in control solutions for air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating, and systems for humidification and evaporative cooling, has become the official Connectivity Partner (sponsor) of the 2018 Eurovent Summit in Seville, Spain. At Europe’s major gathering for key HVACR decision-makers, CAREL is going to emphasise its Connected Efficiency approach.

On 12 June, the website of the INTAS project has been complemented with a set of draft documents analysing applicable regulations and testing best practice of transformers and fans. Unrelated, but worthy of note is that the State of California has also produced a study on fans.

Heat recovery ventilation is expected to be a major ventilation solution

REHVA and Eurovent have released their guidebook on heat recovery ventilation. It includes the latest ventilation technology and knowledge about the ventilation system performance, intended to be used by HVAC designers, consultants, contractors, and other practitioners. This first joint guidebook of REHVA and Eurovent is part of an increasing cooperation between the two associations, with more publications and joint initiatives to follow.

2018 - Naci Sahin elected as new President of the Eurovent Association

Oslo, 25 May 2018. During the Eurovent Annual Meeting in Oslo, members have confirmed Mr Naci Sahin as their new President. The MD of the Turkish company FRITERM has been member of the Eurovent Board of Directors since 2011 and succeeds Alex Rasmussen. Sahin used to be President of Eurovent’s Turkish member association ISKID from 2013 to 2014 and has been playing a leading role in shaping the internationalisation of the Turkish HVACR industry over the past decades. 

Europe’s leading HVACR sector association initiates celebration year

Oslo, 24 May 2018. In 2018, Eurovent entered the 60th year since the foundation of the association. During its ongoing Annual Meeting in Oslo, the industry federation has officially initiated its celebration year, which will be accompanied by a temporary corporate design change, dedicated articles and guest commentaries in the ClimaNovela newsletter, and a campaign called ‘#Sweet60’ on LinkedIn. The celebration months will be concluded with a 60th anniversary event for all members, partners, and friends at the Eurovent Summit in Seville on 27 September.

This webinar focussed on eDelivery and its specifications for use within EPREL. The timing to get EPREL operational by 1 November 2018 is becoming tight.  No new information about the data exchange with EPREL was presented.

Joint industry letter on Implementing Act

As the industry should be able to enter data into the EPREL database from 1 November 2018 onwards, the industry is asking the Commission to focus on getting the database operational on time. This should be done rather than developing an Implementing Act before the database is operational.
