In 2020 the Commission stopped the informal practice of sharing Inter-Service-Consultation (ISC) Working Documents with the members of the Consultation Forum. In March 2021, twelve associations, including Eurovent, requested the Commission to re-introduce and maintain this informal practice. 

The SRI training webinar took place on 7 December. A draft for an SRI certificate is subject to a survey until 15 January 2022. An SRI Platform will be launched on 16 December for which one can register.

The HLCF is meant to co-create the green, digital and resilient transition pathways for the EU construction industry ecosystem. It would result in a commitment towards this transition rather than a directive or regulation. 

On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities, technical regulations and legislative developments of relevance for the HVACR industry. 

The Commission SRI website and the 2nd SRI newsletter are announcing two events that may interest members: 7 December – SRI training webinar and 16 December – Launching of the SRI platform.

The Commission has published on 25 November its decision 2021/2053 on the sectoral reference document on best environmental management practices, environmental performance indicators and benchmarks of excellence for the fabricated metal products manufacturing sector.

While the actual number of products may not be relevant for the total market, the results published by EEPLIANT in its latest newsletter provide some elements for reflection.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released its report on Energy Efficiency 2021 which deals with the progress made, the pandemic and impacts on the supply chain of materials. Its objective is to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, not only in the energy sector but also in appliances and  buildings. 

The Consultation Forum on the Ecodesign preparatory study for Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) held on 15 November 2021 was to present proposed policy measures. The meeting however did not produce clear outcomes and policy conclusions.

During the Consultation Forum on BACS, reference was made to a study on ICT alongside the development of Ecodesign measures. The aim is to propose a policy approach for improving energy efficiency and wider circular economy aspects of ICT.
