EU DG Energy has asked a team of consultants from Trinomics, Guidehouse, Öko-Institut and Ricardo to provide support to the impact assessment and the stakeholder consultation process on the review of the EPBD. A series of workshops will be hosted from 31 March 2021 onwards.
On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities and technical regulations of relevance for the HVACR industry. Our Notifications allow members to be prepared for developments that can have an impact on them and their products.
The preparatory study on the revision of the Ventilation Units Regulations took place from March 2019 until September 2020. Meanwhile, the working documents with the draft texts of the regulations have become available. These will be discussed in the Consultation Forum meeting scheduled for 30 March 2021.
On 22 February 2021, the European Commission published its inception impact assessment. It outlines three options that would support the Renovation Wave and contribute to the EU’s 2030 and 2050 climate and energy objectives.
The European Consultations start with a ‘Roadmap/Inception Impact Assessment’ followed by a ‘Public Consultation’. The Roadmap looks for general comments of the interested persons and stakeholders. The Consultation is the second phase and consists of detailed questionnaires. The industry benefits from responding to these Consultations.
The second stakeholder meeting, initially scheduled for November 2020, will take place on 26 March 2021. Task Reports have been established for 13 possible new Product Groups. Among these, ‘Industrial smart sensors’ and ‘Swimming pool heaters’ could become of interest to Eurovent.
Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Handling Units’ (PG-AHU) has published the first edition of Eurovent Recommendation 6/15 – Air Leakages in Air Handling Units. The Recommendation presents guidelines for improving Indoor Air Quality and correcting the performance of Air Handling Units due to internal leakages.
This report was launched by the European Parliament (EP) ENVI Committee in response to the European Commission (EC) Communication of March 2020. This non-binding report provides for policy recommendations to achieve a carbon-neutral circular economy by 2050.
The IEA is continuing to update its publications. Of note are the Energy Efficiency 2020 and the World Energy Outlook published at the end of 2020. As usual, a lot of interesting documents have been released and while looking at the world at large. The insights can prove useful for companies wishing to enter export markets.
