Scenarios for this transition pathway will with time have an impact on the HVACR industry, through the introduction of Product Environment Footprints in the Ecodesign of Sustainable Product Regulation. 

On 23 June 2022 the 2nd stakeholder meeting for the revision process of the MEErP will take place. The report and updated eco-report tool includes aspects of material efficiency and the environmental footprint. 

The European Parliament’s ENVI Committee published its draft opinion on the EPBD proposal. It notably underscores the importance of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).

The first report on the revision of the 2016 GPP criteria for Office Buildings was released in March. The scope has been extended to all type of buildings and the criteria would be finalised by mid-2023. 

The March edition of the SRI newsletter has just been released. The SRI is now tested in four member states, the Czech Republic being the new one.

The European Commission is developing this roadmap. It relies on various initiatives and studies and should result in time in a set of milestones and requirements leading to climate neutrality by 2050.

The consultation on the Future Buildings Standard: 2021 has resulted in changes to Part L (conservation of fuel and power) and Part F (ventilation) of the Building Regulations for non-domestic buildings and dwellings; and overheating in new residential buildings. 

Around 200 persons participated to SRI Platform that was launched on 16 December. The impression remains as before that the SRI would lead to fragmentation of the market.

The SRI training webinar took place on 7 December. A draft for an SRI certificate is subject to a survey until 15 January 2022. An SRI Platform will be launched on 16 December for which one can register.
