In cooperation with Orgalim, the Eurovent Team provides you with an overview on all European legislative developments of relevance to the HVACR sector. The Bulletin provides a compendium allowing the industry to assess the status quo and expected developments.

In December 2021, the Commission published its updated Guidance: Imports of pre-charged equipment. On 29 October 2021, the EU Commission published the 2022 version of the Combined Nomenclature. Both do concern pre-charged equipment and apply since 1 January 2022.

The report and presentation of the meeting held on 16 December 2021 have become available on the Commission website.

The consultation on the Future Buildings Standard: 2021 has resulted in changes to Part L (conservation of fuel and power) and Part F (ventilation) of the Building Regulations for non-domestic buildings and dwellings; and overheating in new residential buildings. 

Until 31 January, the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and UNEP OzonAction are running a survey to understand the background, motivation, challenges, and opportunities faced by women working in the  Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Heat Pumps (RACHP) sector. 

On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities, technical regulations and legislative developments of relevance for the HVACR industry. 

The Commission has published an FAQ document  accompanied by a voluntary guidance supplement. As usual, these are non-binding documents.

The current basic EU-login authentication method of suppliers providing data to EPREL does not guarantee reliable verification of their identity. The Commission has introduced a new supplier identity verification procedure.

Around 200 persons participated to SRI Platform that was launched on 16 December. The impression remains as before that the SRI would lead to fragmentation of the market.

Recently EurObserv’ER issued a separate Barometer giving details of the 2019 and 2020 European Heat Pump market.  Aerothermal (air-air, air-water, exhaust air)  and geothermal heat pumps are covered as well as an overview of 21 European manufacturers.
