The European Commission services together with stakeholders have recently produced guidelines to assist in the smooth and level application of the Directive 2014/35/EU. The Directive became applicable on 20 April 2016. The guidelines explain in an easy and understandable way the elements of the Directive.
The “Blue Guide” is intended to contribute to a better understanding of EU product rules and to their more uniform and coherent application the single market. It provides guidance to all parties involved. In general it is understood that industry is aware of the contents of the “blue guide”!
DG GROW has just published the update of the “Blue Guide”. The 2016 version covers recent developments to ensure the broadest possible common understanding on implementation of the New Legislative Framework (NLF) for the marketing of products.
The EMC directive 2014/30 EU and LVD directive2014/35/EU are replacing from 20 April 2016 their respective earlier directives 2004/108/EC and 2006/95/EC. The main changes relate to the obligations of the economic operators regarding traceability.
