The consortium in charge of the preparatory study for the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Working Plan 2020-2024 has published draft reports for Task 2 and Task 3 ahead of the stakeholder meeting scheduled for 10 July 2020. The reports deal with the identification and preliminary analysis of product groups and horizontal measures to be considered for inclusion in the Working Plan. Air curtains were included in Task 3. In terms of horizontal measures, circular economy aspects were included.
After two events outside Europe (2017 USA, 2019 China), the 11th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting (EEDAL) conference returns to Europe in 2021. In 2021, EEDAL will be organised jointly with the International Symposium on Science and Technology of Lighting and will take place from 8 to 10 November in Toulouse, France.

After the Consultation Forum meeting on parameters and values (see GEN – 1121.00), the European Commission has provided a tentative planning of the meetings for 2020. This planning can still evolve. The meeting for review of the Ventilation Units Regulation is set for 23 October 2020. The meeting for review of the Fans Regulation is set for December 2020.
The European Commission has signed the contract with a consortium composed of Viegand Maagøe, VHK and Öko Recherche on 25 March 2020. The project website is now live. Even though the contract runs for nine months until November, it is the intention to have it available preferably by September. Owing to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, the organisers of the EUROVENTSUMMIT have announced the postponement of its upcoming edition to 2021. Initially scheduled for September 2020, it will now take place from 12 to 15 October 2021 in Antalya, Turkey.
The COVID-19 crisis is impacting the European Commission Work Programme for 2020. The draft Recovery Strategy will focus initiatives that will contribute to overcoming the crisis. This draft would integrate aspects of the Green Deal, digitisation and the initial lessons learned from the crisis.

Within the EEPLIANT2 project, a number of Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) monitored and verified in a coordinated manner the conformity of 64 Professional Refrigerated Storage Cabinets with the Ecodesign Regulation 2015/1094 and Energy Labelling Regulation 2015/1094. Seven penalties were imposed, and products were removed from the market.
