During the 66th Annual Meeting of Eurovent, Francesco Scuderi has been appointed Secretary General of the association. He succeeds retiring Felix Van Eyken and will be supported by new Deputy Secretary General Stijn Renneboog.

The LIFE sub-programme Clean Energy Transition has issued a call for proposals that can qualify for grants. Three topics may be of interest to the HVACR industry. Around 30 partners are looking for collaboration to introduce a proposal by 12 January 2022. 

Publication contains everything you need to know about Residential Heat Recovery Ventilation Units

Brussels, 14 September 2021. Eurovent’s Product Group ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ (PG-RAHU) has just published the first release of its Guidebook on Residential Heat Recovery Ventilation Units. On 44 pages, the free-of-charge publication provides a comprehensive overview of all essential information on this important technology. The Guidebook was prepared in cooperation with REHVA (Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations).

Organisations emphasise use of ISO 16890 as reference standard for general ventilation

Brussels, Paris, Dubai, 19 May 2021. Eurovent, in cooperation with Eurovent Middle East and Eurovent Certita Certification, will host a dedicated webinar tailor-made for Africa, Middle East, India and Southeast Asia. The webinar will outline the importance of adherence to latest standards in air conditioning and ventilation. Special focus will be placed on the application of the newest air filtration standard ISO 16890, which has replaced EN 779 and other international standards in recent years.

First article of a new series for members only

The teams of Eurovent and PRODBIM have prepared an article for members on recent developments in Building Information Modelling (BIM) CEN TC442 standardisation activities and construction product information digitalisation. PRODBIM, a subsidiary of Eurovent Services Company, is participating to CEN TC442 & BuildingSMART working groups, and is compiling a summary of the CEN TC 442 works on BIM standardisation. Interconnecting dictionaries is the first step.

Development ISO 22712 standard on competence of personnel

The draft standard ISO 22712 'Refrigerating systems and heat pumps - Competence of Personnel' has been submitted for voting on 3 September 2018. The voting terminates on 26 November 2018. The input to the national standardisation bodies such as AFNOR, DIN, UNI, etc. are likely to be requested by around mid-October.

Eurovent would like to thank its members for acting at national level towards the European Commission. The Commission has provided its comments to WTO earlier today.
