Braga, Portugal, 24 May 2019. During their 62nd Annual Meeting hosted by EFRIARC (Portuguese association of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers), the Eurovent members have elected Naci Sahin (FRITERM, Turkey) for a second term as President of Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies. The General Assembly has furthermore adopted a new membership structure, which shall ensure the long-term sustainability of the Eurovent Association beyond the background of changing boundary conditions.
Dubai, 22 May 2019. UL and Eurovent Middle East have announced their cooperation in the region to work towards higher safety standards in relation to HVAC equipment and installations. Both organisations also will form a joint working group to develop initiatives for improved Indoor Air Quality. To underline this cooperation, UL takes an Associate Membership with Eurovent Middle East.

The Eurovent Association’s Product Groups ‘Air Handling Units’ and ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ (covering non-residential and residential ventilation units respectively) have released Position Papers concerning the ongoing review of Commission Regulation (EU) No 1253/2014 (Ecodesign requirements for ventilation units). The papers include clarifications and amendments to the regulatory text, as well as in-depth suggestions for improvement concerning air filters, leakages, humidity recovery, control systems, labelling aspects, and many other issues of high relevance.
With CAREL Middle East, the region’s HVACR industry association has added yet another key player to its growing member base. Abu Dhabi, Dubai, 30 January 2019. The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) and Eurovent Middle East have announced the formation of a joint working group to develop Conformity Assessment Schemes for Air Handling Units and Fan Coil Units. The association of the region’s leading HVACR manufacturers will encourage organisation and coordination of industry stakeholders and is calling on interested manufacturers to join the working group.

Eurovent Middle East has announced the next event within its ‘HVACR Leadership Workshops’ series, which is going to focus on cost savings within the food cold chain and takes place at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre on 28 January 2019 from 18:00 to 21:00h. The non-commercial, free-of-charge seminar will see leading industry experts in this field elaborate on key technologies and strategies to reduce energy consumption in the food cold chain.
