Major Polish manufacturer of indoor climate technologies has joined Eurovent Association

Gdynia, Poland, 18 April 2016. With VBW Engineering, one of Poland’s major manufacturers of indoor climate technologies has joined the Eurovent Association following an approval by the Eurovent Board. Since its foundation, VBW Engineering has undergone a strong development. The company based in Gdynia, a city close to Gdańsk at the Baltic Sea, today employs more than 250 people throughout 10+ European countries.

Document provides toolbox on how to deal with EU Regulations 1253/2014 and 1254/2014

Brussels, 12 April 2016. The Eurovent association and EVIA have published their joint Guidance Document on Ecodesign requirements for ventilation units. The document aims to provide answers to the many questions the market still has concerning EU Regulations 1253/2014 and 1254/2014, and following the release of the final draft FAQs by the European Commission on 21 December 2015. It provides for a more uniform and coherent implementation of these legislations across different sectors and product groups within the EU Common Market and in countries following EU legislation.

Eurovent, ISKID, and REHVA join forces to bring latest innovation and research to one of the world’s major HVACR events / ISKID and Eurovent to host ‘global industry reception’

The upcoming ISK-SODEX (4-7 May 2016) in Istanbul will offer many new highlights to its more than 80.000 expected visitors, including an ISKID/Eurovent ‘Global Industry Reception’ (4 May), and a ‘Sustainable Indoor Climate Conference’ (5 May). Brussels, 6 April 2016. The Eurovent association has released the first edition of its Air Curtains Guidebook. The publication acts as a toolbox for consultants, specifiers, engineers, legislators, and everyone else dealing with air curtain technologies. It not only provides key information on how to rightly select, install, and maintain air curtains, but also outlines the various air curtain technologies available on the market as well as their application and key benefits.

Climate Abu Dhabi receives full support of a wide-range of industry players / Eurovent to organise in-depth seminar programme

Abu Dhabi, 5 April 2016. As announced today during an official press conference, 3-5 October 2016 will see the first edition of the Climate Abu Dhabi taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Climate Abu Dhabi is the first international exhibition in the GCC and wider Middle East region that is fully focussing on indoor climate (HVAC), process cooling, and food cold chain technologies. The exhibition receives support from a wide range of industry players including Eurovent, which is one of the official partner associations.

Beginning of January saw the first-ever HVACR Expo Saudi taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The show proved to be an instant success, attracting almost 2,200 visitors. Top brands from around the globe such as Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC), Carrier, Coolex, ebm-papst, Friterm, and Johnson Controls were present, showcasing their latest innovations to visitors from throughout the Kingdom. In addition to the exhibitors, a comprehensive educational programme of 17 sessions was hosted in cooperation with Eurovent.

Brussels, December 2015 - Ever since the fall of the Iron Curtain, Russia has developed into one of the most important markets for European manufacturers of indoor climate, process cooling, and food cold chain technologies. Our industry has undertaken significant investments and efforts in the world’s largest country. European companies employ thousands of people in Russia, have set up domestic manufacturing and R&D units, and have been playing an important role in supporting the country’s modernisation since the early 1990s. Many Eurovent members were even active before and report a long tradition. A prime example is VEB Kühlautomat, which became part of Grasso (GEA Group) in 1994, and is still a widely known compressor brand in Russia today.

With ‘Eurovent 4/19 – 2015’, the Eurovent association has published the second edition of its widely-known industry recommendation concerning public enquiries for air filters. The Code of Good Practice covers the most important parameters and demands that should be taken into consideration when writing a valid requisition, public tender, or enquiry for air filters. The document was updated taking into account recent technical and market developments.

Brussels, 16 November 2015. With ‘Eurovent 4/22 – 2015’, the Eurovent association has published a new testing standard for residential air filter performance measurements. By covering filters having a rated maximum air flow from 70 to 1000 m³/h, the industry recommendation fills a gap regarding existing ISO and EN standards. Eurovent’s document is forward-thinking and anticipates the upcoming ISO 16890 standard, which deals with ‘Air filters for general ventilation’.
