European Ventilation Industry Association (EVIA) and Eurovent jointly provide new guidance to market on Ecodesign and Energy labelling rules for ventilation units

Brussels, 8 March 2017. The European Ventilation Industry Association (EVIA) and the Eurovent Association have come together to release the third edition of a joint comprehensive FAQ on Ecodesign and Energy labelling requirements for ventilation units. It aims to provide answers to the many questions the market still has concerning EU Regulations 1253/2014 and 1254/2014 to ensure their proper implementation.

Initiative received support of 92 leading European sectoral associations

Brussels, 16 February 2016. The Eurovent Association has co-signed the ‘Joint Declaration for an ambitious EU industry strategy’, in which 92 leading sectoral associations call for the European Union to implement a determined and coordinated strategy for Europe’s manufacturing sector. In the sector heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR), Eurovent, the Association of the European Heating Industry (EHI), and the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) supported this wide-ranging initiative.

The Systemair Managing Director looks back at 30+ years of experience in the region

Dubai, 22 January 2017. During a General Meeting at The H Hotel in Dubai, UAE, the first-ever chairmanship elections of Eurovent Middle East took place. The issue group’s more than 25 member companies have elected Mr Brian Suggitt (Managing Director Middle East, Systemair AB) as their Chairman. With Michel Farah (Director Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility, Daikin Middle East and Afrika FZE), Georges Hoeterickx (Director Business Development, Evapco Europe BVBA) and Matthias Kasprowicz (Managing Director, TROX Middle East llc), Suggitt is going to be supported by three highly experienced Vice-Chairmen.

Brussels, Klagenfurt, 22 November 2016. After formal approval by the Eurovent Board, Austrian manufacturer J. Pichler GmbH has become Corresponding Member of the Eurovent association. The company, based in Klagenfurt (in the south of Austria), has over 55 years of experience in manufacturing state-of-the-art ventilation and air-conditioning solutions, and currently employs more than 170 people.

Eurovent 4/21 (2016) enables transition towards ISO 16890 classification and testing methods

Brussels, 14 November 2016. The Eurovent association has released the second edition of its widely applied code of good practice Eurovent 4/21. The latter defines the energy efficiency evaluation of air filters for general ventilation purposes. As a first of its kind, Eurovent 4/21 (2016) implements classification and testing methods of the new EN ISO 16890. The first edition of Eurovent 4/21 (2014), which relates to the long-established EN 779 standard, will remain valid until 31 December 2017 in order to allow for a sufficient transition time towards the new ISO standard.

MIRAI INTEX becomes Eurovent’s 27th Corresponding Member

Brussels, Chiasso, 2 November 2016. The Eurovent Board has formally approved Corresponding Membership of Swiss manufacturer MIRAI INTEX, making it Eurovent’s 27th Corresponding Member. Founded in 2015, the company currently has 30 employees, developing and producing high-quality refrigeration and air-handling solutions.

Initiative receives backing and support of a wide range of major industry players

Brussels, 30 October 2016. Today, the Eurovent association has announced the launch of its Eurovent Middle East issue group. The latter will act as the representative of Eurovent members based in/or active in the Middle East region. Founding members constitute more than 15 manufacturers and related organisations that are going to jointly undertake advocacy, marketing, and trade-related activities throughout the region. Mr Markus Lattner has been assigned Director of the initiative.

Eurovent Recommendation 16/1 defines first air curtain testing and efficiency calculation methods

Brussels, Krakow, 10 October 2016. In the course of its 2016 Eurovent Summit, the Eurovent association has released the first edition of its air curtain standard. The code of good practice titled Eurovent 16/1 defines the first testing efficiency calculation method for air curtains. The document fills a standardisation gap, which has characterised these products for a long time. It defines the Air Curtains’ categories, standard rating conditions, and testing methods, and it can serve as input of how to calculate the buildings’ energy saving by using Air Curtains.

Exhibition visitors can collect stamps at Eurovent members’ booths for the good cause
Nuremberg, 7 October 2016. During the upcoming Chillventa in Nuremberg, Eurovent is going to organise its first-ever Hiking Challenge, open to all exhibition visitors. By collecting a defined number of stamps in their Hiking Passbook at the booths of participating Eurovent members, contestants contribute to two charities from Germany and Italy respectively. They have furthermore the chance to receive a limited edition Eurovent beer mug.
Representative of Danish manufacturer elected Chairman of newly-launched Product Group

Krakow, 4 October 2016. Mr Henning Grønbæk, RAHU Product Manager at Exhausto, a leading the manufacturer of comfort ventilation products and systems which has since June 2016 been a member of part of the French Aldes Group, was elected Chairman of the newly setup Product Group ‘Residential Air Handling Units’ (PG-RAHU) within the Eurovent association. More than 40 participants have joined the meeting during the Eurovent Summit, reflecting the increasing demand for a working group dedicated to this evolving residential indoor climate technology.
