Dear friends of the Eurovent family,

On behalf of our Team, we would like to wish you a very nice holiday season. It is our wish that 2020 brings all of us many new business opportunities, and a lot of professional growth, health, and happiness.

We would like to express the highest gratitude to all of you for your continued support. A special thank you goes to the great work of the Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, and other active persons within our Product Groups, who voluntarily dedicate their time to support the development of our industry and joint European ideals.

For the Eurovent Association and its Chapter Eurovent Middle East, this year was marked with many important developments, of which we would like to share a few.

2019 has been significant for our Association. The Eurovent Annual Meeting in May set a new path for our future. The General Assembly adopted a new membership structure to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Eurovent Association beyond the background of changing boundary conditions. Compared to the current structure, this new setup constitutes an important step forward in further developing our Association. It is going to enter into force on 1 January 2020.

We are very happy to see the growing interest of our members in the new membership structure. We have already welcomed many new Corresponding Members on board and are expecting even more in the months to come. All new Corresponding Members have been announced on our LinkedIn page, so if you are interested to see which one of your fellow industry leaders takes part in the new membership structure, don’t hesitate to go have a look.

In terms of regulatory developments, this year has been a busy one with ongoing revisions of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations for ventilation units, air conditioners, comfort fans, water heaters, space heaters, fans and building automation control systems. Eurovent has submitted comprehensive Position Papers on these revisions and sent delegations to the stakeholder meetings and Consultation Forums to advocate our forward-looking industry positions with the potential of shaping the Regulations in line with our joint European ideals.

Our Chapter Eurovent Middle East has grown to 46 members from Europe, Asia, America and more importantly, from within the region. The implementation of dedicated Working Groups for different industry segments has helped elevating discussions and boosting effectiveness. The region’s efforts to improve energy efficiency are met with multiple obstacles, from declining markets to shortcoming regulatory frameworks. Having an industry association in place locally is of vital importance to render support and coordination for all stakeholders involved.

In line with these crucial developments, year 2020 will see steps towards a growth of the association activities, with an enforced focus on Indoor Air Quality, legislative developments, international cooperation, and on further strengthening the unity of our industry. We would also like to take this opportunity to cordially invite you to the 2020 EUROVENTSUMMIT. The next edition of Europe’s biennial major gathering for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 22 to 25 September 2020. More information on the Summit will come in early 2020 and can be followed on its official website.

Once again, all of us at Eurovent wish you and yours a truly relaxing holiday season and a lot of fresh energy stepping into the new year.

With kind regards,

Naci Sahin

President, Eurovent Association

Felix Van Eyken
