The Eurovent Association turns 60

Oslo, 24 May 2018. In 2018, Eurovent entered the 60th year since the foundation of the association. During its ongoing Annual Meeting in Oslo, the industry federation has officially initiated its celebration year, which will be accompanied by a temporary corporate design change, dedicated articles and guest commentaries in the ClimaNovela newsletter, and a campaign called ‘#Sweet60’ on LinkedIn. The celebration months will be concluded with a 60th anniversary event for all members, partners, and friends at the Eurovent Summit in Seville on 27 September.

Eurovent was founded on 20 September 1958 in Paris, at a time when the European market for heating and refrigeration systems started to grow rapidly. Founding members were national industry associations from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands – which are still member today. In 2018, Europe’s Industry Association for Indoor Climate (HVAC), Process Cooling, and Food Cold Chain Technologies represents sector associations from all over Europe and more than 1.000 manufacturers – making Eurovent one of the largest cross-regional industry committees of its kind.

During the Annual Meeting, Eurovent Secretary General Felix Van Eyken remarked:

“With 60 years, our association is nearly as old as I am. Yet, both me and the association feel younger than ever due to our dynamic and multinational team of young people that are ready to further develop Eurovent, hopefully far across its 100th birthday. Over its course of existence, our association can in some way be considered a mirror image of Europe. Having so many countries and cultures combined offers both many opportunities but also challenges. It is my wish that the large variety of manufacturers of different sizes and specialisations remains and that we never stop innovating and getting the most out of our technologies.”

In-depth information on the history of Eurovent can be found on the association’s homepage section ‘Our Story’. Everyone interested in joining the 60th birthday event called “60 Shades of Eurovent” in Seville on 27 September 2018 can now register at www.eurovent-summit.eu. Tickets will be issued on a first-come first-serve basis as the event is limited to 250 people.
