Brussels, Sao Paolo, 22 February 2021. Following the success of the updated Eurovent Recommendation 4/23 – ‘Selection of EN ISO 16890 rated air filter classes for general ventilation applications’, Eurovent has teamed up with ABRAVA (Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Ventilation) to publish the Brazilian version of the industry recommendation in the Portuguese language. Eurovent Recommendation 4/23 (2020) is aligned with international standardisation developments. It includes a hands-on table, which shows that required filtration efficiencies can be reached by using different filters or different combinations of filters. The publication is addressed to all HVAC professionals dealing with ventilation systems, particularly design consultants, facility managers and manufacturers of equipment incorporating air filters. It was jointly developed by participants of the Eurovent Product Group ‘Air Filters’ (PG-FIL) and ABRAVA’s Working Group ‘Special Studies Group of Cleaning Devices for Air and Other Gases’ (CEEeurovent-market-intelligence/news/eurovent-market-intelligence/-138) under ABNT/CB-055 – Brazilian Committee for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (Brazilian Association for Technical Standards).

Mr Naci Sahin, President of Eurovent, stated: “We highly appreciate this initiative developed with ABRAVA. Having a European guideline leading the way for the HVAC industry on the other side of the world is a milestone in ensuring a global level playing field, removing trade barriers, and promoting state-of-the-art technologies. I believe that this is the first step towards a long-term partnership between ABRAVA and Eurovent.”

Mr Arnaldo Basile Jr., Executive President of ABRAVA, added: “Readers of the Eurovent Recommendation 4/23 will be able to obtain knowledge on the processes of filter selection according to EN ISO 16890, and can be fully aware of their characteristics, which is paramount for proper application, as well as performance. We at ABRAVA thank Eurovent for the good cooperation and support in preparing the translation of this document.”

The Brazilian version of the Eurovent Recommendation 4/23 (2020) in Portuguese can be downloaded free of charge in our Document Web Shop. It is also attached to the online version of this Press Release. Although a Recommendation by nature, the document was published in style of a Guidebook, making it accessible to a wider range of readers. A printed version can be requested by all filter manufacturers that are members of Eurovent. The Recommendation will be regularly updated once new testing data becomes available.
