On 22 May 2023, the Council of the EU adopted its position (general approach) on the European Commission’s proposal for Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).

Climatizacion & Refrigeracion, an international air conditioning and refrigeration trade fair held in Spain, has submitted its 2023 plan for the next edition of the fair. It will be held 14-17 November 2023.

The European Commission recently confirmed the additional stakeholder technical meeting on the review of Ecodesign requirements for space heaters as announced during the last Consultation Forum.

The minutes of the Consultation Forum of 07 March 2023 regarding the Ecodesign and the Energy Labelling of room air conditioners and of the Consultation Forum of 27 April 2023 regarding the Ecodesign and the Energy Labelling of space heaters have been circulated.

Eurovent India’s Expert Workshop, which focused on energy efficient Indoor Air Quality solutions, concluded on a successful note. The first local workshop welcomed more than 160 key HVAC industry stakeholders and senior consultants. 

On Thursday, 27 April, the European Commission held the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Consultation Forum meeting on the review of the regulations on space and water heaters (Regulations EU 811/2013, 812/2013, 813/2013 and 814/2013).

The European Environment Agency published the ‘Europe’s Air Quality status 2023’. It outlines concentrations of air pollutants in 2021 and 2022 for regulated pollutants in relation to EU air quality standards and WHO guidelines.

The April 2023 edition of the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) newsletter - including three new SRI factsheets related to the Domestic Hot Water, Electricity, and Monitoring & Control technical domains - has been released.

The European Environment Agency has published the ‘Annual EU greenhouse gas inventory 1990-2021 and inventory report 2023’, which is the EU’s official submission of greenhouse gas emission data to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).  

Brussels, 18 April 2023. Eurovent has published its first Residential Air Handling Units (RAHU) recommendation which focuses on Ecodesign and Energy Labelling compliance of bidirectional RVUs. This recommendation was prepared in a joint effort by participants of PG-RAHU.
