After the formal release of the BACS final study on 14 October, the Commission is hosting a Consultation Forum on 15 November to present this study to be followed by a discussion. The possible adoption of the draft minutes of the Consultation Forum meeting on air-to-air conditioners and heat pumps, comfort fans and local space heaters is also part of the meeting.

In 2019, DG Energy commissioned a study that should lead towards the development of a draft roadmap for the decarbonisation of heating and cooling. The draft roadmap should become available by the end of 2021.

Eurovent Certita Certification (ECC) has launched a new programme for Air Cleaners and granted the first certificates to three independent air cleaners with clean air efficiencies for particles, gaseous pollutants, microorganisms and allergens. Clean Air Efficiency classes are presented on a label which allows end users to compare between products.

Brussels, Riga, 19 October 2021. Eurovent welcomes Europlast, Latvian manufacturer of ventilation systems and accessories, as its newest Corresponding Member. Europlast has officially become the first-ever Eurovent member from Latvia; further expanding the association’s footprint throughout Europe.

Energy and environmental targets to grow as number of buildings expands

The Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC) was set up as a voluntary partnership in 2015 during the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21). It involves 30+ countries and 100+ members with different backgrounds and fits within the United Nations Environment Programme. The aim is to work towards a zero-emission, efficient, and resilient buildings and construction sector.

In 1991 Eurovent, together with the American, Canadian and Japanese associations founded ICARHMA, the International Council of Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating Manufacturers Associations. Meanwhile the membership has increased to eleven members covering many parts of the world. ICARHMA allows the association to discuss global issues related to energy and environmental related issues.

From 05 to 06 October 2021, the Eurovent Team is going to be at Indoor-Air 2021 – a German trade fair for ventilation and air quality. Eurovent will be at your disposal for requests concerning legislation, standardisation and general industry developments.

On a monthly basis, the Eurovent Team compiles a global overview of the latest developments concerning new standardisation activities, technical regulations and legislative developments of relevance for the HVACR industry. This information allows members to be prepared for developments that can have an impact on them and their products.
