The second stakeholder meeting on the preparatory study for Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) was held on 15 December 2020. The study team presented and discussed the deliverables. The proposed Ecodesign requirements for control systems are made separately at the packaged product level and at the installed product level. Written comments on the proposal may be submitted until 19 January 2021.

European Chemicals Agency will identify harmful chemicals in packaging and, when requested, propose restrictions on their use. These responsibilities come from the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, on 11 February 2025....

A Directors’ meeting was held at the EU Commission to discuss the circular economy. During the meeting, potential pillars for the Circular Economy Act were discussed.
The EU Commission published a draft delegated act on exemption for lead as an alloying element in steel, aluminium and copper; lead in high melting temperature solders; and lead in glass or ceramic components. The adoption date is expected Q1 2025....
On 16 December 2024 the Commission organised a webinar on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. During the webinar they clarified certain articles.
The initiative to add tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBP-A) and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins (MCCPs) to the list of restricted substances of RoHS has been abandoned.
