On 26 February, the European Commission published the Clean Industrial Deal which aims to bring together climate and competitiveness. It focuses on two interlinked sectors: clean tech and energy-intensive industry.

The new Regulation on Packaging and Packaging Waste was published on 22 January 2025. It will enter into force starting from 11 February 2025 and the general application date of the provisions is 12 August 2026.
