Eurovent launches new Task Force Taxonomy and CSRD

Brussels, 20 June 2024. Earlier this year, Eurovent launched a new Task Force ‘Taxonomy and CSRD’ (TF-TAXO). During the second meeting of the Task Force, participants elected Andreas Martinsson (Svensk Ventilation) as the working group’s Chairperson.

The Task Force covers the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities (Taxonomy) and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). It aims to share information among members and coordinate Eurovent actions to potentially improve, amend, or complement the Taxonomy and its Technical Screening Criteria to better suit and cover the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) industry. The Task Force ‘Taxonomy and CSRD’ participants elected Andreas Martinsson, Technical and Environmental Manager at Svensk Ventilation, who has more than a decade of experience in the HVAC sector, as the group’s Chairperson.

Following his election, Andreas Martinsson emphasised that: “The EU-Taxonomy is a complex material and by working together, we can find a common way on how to use this material to prove that we are working sustainably. This will also be shown to relevant stakeholders in a standardised manner. The goal is that the work done by the group will help Eurovent members in their sustainability reporting.”

The Task Force will be addressing the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities, as more companies in the Eurovent membership are reporting against the Taxonomy. It will focus on providing a clear interpretation of the existing Technical Screening Criteria, which is ambiguous. The group will additionally address the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, which was entered into force in 2023, requiring certain categories of companies to report yearly on sustainability issues.
